ICEBERG

Rose and Jack share a passionate kiss seconds before the ship hits an iceberg.

"Iceberg, Right Ahead" is the sixteenth scene in Titanic. In it, Rose and Jack return to the top deck after making love in the backseat of a car in the ship's cargo hold. They share a passionate kiss after Rose tells him she is getting off the ship with him when a huge jolt makes them lose their balance. They are, like many others, confused and unsure of what is going on. Rose and Jack are horrified to learn that the ship has hit an iceberg. Terrified, Rose tells Jack that they have to tell her mother and Cal, and so they go in search of them.

Criticism[]

In order to keep Jack and Rose present for the Iceberg scene. Cameron elected to make them a distraction to the two lookouts, causing them to spot the iceberg too late. In reality, it has been claimed that the calm weather and speed of the ship made it very difficult to see until it was too close to get around it. Many felt that it was disrespectful to the crew of the ship to display them in such a manner.
